SUMMARY:3rd Annual Low Country Boil
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy delicious coastal cuisine\, drinks\, live music and lawn games when the Museum of Coastal Carolina hosts its popular third annual Low Country Boil on Sunday\, September 22 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm on the Museum grounds. \nShrimply Delicious Catering will prepare a menu that includes shrimp\, clams\, mussels\, sausage\, potatoes\, corn\, coleslaw\, hushpuppies or cornbread\, and one non-alcoholic drink. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Dine-in and To-go options are also available. Chicky Boy will provide the live music and there will be games for all ages. Bring your lawn chair or join other guests at tables the Museum provides for a fun event for all. \nPurchase tickets for $35 per person by visiting our website. All tickets must be purchased in advance\, as no tickets will be sold the day of the event. Proceeds from the event will support Museum operations\, which operates as a 501(c)3\nnonprofit.

DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Coastal Carolina is excited to announce the opening of its NEW Climate Action Heroes exhibit! Developed by and in partnership with the National Children’s Museum and Nickelodeon Our World\, Climate Action Heroes’ mission is to empower children to affect positive change for the planet by practicing climate action superpowers in their homes\, schools\, and communities. \nThis exhibit is the latest in the Museum’s continuing efforts to provide more interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages. Upon entering the Museum’s Changing Tides Gallery\, visitors’ answers to a maze of playful questions match them with one of five hero personas with unique superpowers: \n1. Community Captains create climate-friendly actions for their home\, school\, and community. They care about where our food\, water\, energy\, clothes\, and toys come from and go after being used. Together\, lots of people are working to help communities live in harmony with the environment. They help Climate Action Heroes stay connected! \n2. Pollinator Patrollers protect and advocate for pollinators of all kinds such as bees\, butterflies\, birds and bats. Together\, lots of people work to keep the environment healthy for pollinators. They help Climate Action Heroes stay\nbuzzing! \n3. Arbor Avengers protect trees. Trees clean the air\, keep us cool\, absorb rainwater and pollution\, and provide a home for animals. Together\, lots of people are preserving existing trees and planting more. You help Climate Action Heroes stay rooted! \n4. Water Warriors protect water. They make sure people have access to water that is safe to drink. Together\, lots of people are working to keep oceans\, lakes\, and streams clean. They help Climate Action Heroes stay afloat! \n5. Mighty Meteorologists understand changing weather patterns and identify future weather events. They focus on preparing for and responding to severe weather. Together\, lots of people are promoting climate resilience to keep people safe as weather changes happen more often. DESCRIPTION:NEWS BRIEF FROM SOUTHPORT OAK ISLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE \nAs we kick into high gear this tourism season\, the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center took the opportunity to show its appreciation to our tourism professionals by delivering a bag of goodies to those members in the accommodation\, restaurant\, and retail industries. \nThe Chamber’s Tourism Counts Referral campaign is designed to help front-facing tourism professionals become aware of and connect with the companies and services that tourists may need when they are visiting our community. \nHow does Tourism Count?
