Oyster Event

Join us at Waterway Park at 9:00 AM on Wednesday (10/25) as our multigenerational “citizen scientists” continue building our “Living Shoreline” of bagged oyster shells and Spartina Alterniflora grasses. The event will include participation from UNCW partners (professors and graduate and undergraduate student interns) and South Brunswick High School students. We will install a new technology, the Sandbar Oyster Catcher unit (about 5 feet), on a demo. Participants should wear strap-on shoes (no flip flops). This is a great event to make new friends while supporting an ecological service with our community, then enjoying lunch! Registration is required to prepare enough lunch.
