Sandbar Lecture Series

“Microplastics in the Southeast” will be the focus of the next installment of the Sandbar Lecture Series at 6:00 PM on Tuesday (6/6) at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. Georgia Busch, Coastal Specialist at the Wrightsville Beach office of the NC Coastal Federation, will lead this in-depth look at her recent microplastics sampling citizen science program. Following the EPA’s protocol on microplastic sampling for citizen scientists, the Coastal Federation recruited approximately 35 volunteers to sample beaches and analyze sampling data. The data collected from April – October will be used for additional advocacy efforts aiming to prevent microplastics pollution. Click here for more information about this and other upcoming museum events.
